The hits just keep on coming for second-year pro Ivan Melendez whose first-inning home run helped Hillsboro to a 5-0 win in their series opener with Tri-City on Tuesday night, May 23, at Ron Tonkin Field in Hillsboro.

A one-run game turned ugly late as the Ems parlayed three late-inning home runs into eight overall runs en route to a 10-1 win over the Hops on Saturday, May 20, at PK Park in Eugene.

J.J. D’Orazio has now hit safely in seven straight games, with none bigger than his two-RBI tenth inning single to lift the visiting Hops to a 5-3 win over Eugene on Friday night, May 19, at PK Park in Eugene.

Eugene only had four hits in their game against Hillsboro on Thursday night, but that’s all they needed in a 2-0 win over the Hops on May 18, at PK Park in Eugene.

An easy win got interesting late, but in the end it was the Hops who prevailed in a 10-7 victory over the Ems in the second of their six-game set on Wednesday, May 17, at PK Park in Eugene.

Timing is everything, and despite recording nearly twice as many hits than the home Emeralds, the Hops dropped the opener of their six-game set with Eugene 5-2 on Tuesday, May 16, at PK Park in Eugene.

It was another tough week for Hillsboro as the Hops dropped five of six games with Vancouver, culminating with a 5-3 loss to the Canadians on Sunday, May 7, at Ron Tonkin Field.
